鹿児島→熊本の出張から帰って来ました。鹿児島は初めての土地だったんですが、中々良い街でした！ 九州では3番目の人口なのかな？ "キリスト教が初めて日本に伝わった地" という看板をみかけましたけど・・・アレレ、長崎だったような記憶が？ ←私が無知なだけ？
今日紹介するのは今年の1月にリリースされた1枚で、Gaz Mayallが主催するロンドンの人気クラブ・イヴェント "Gaz's Rockin Blues"の25周年を記念したもの。こんなの出ていたんですね！ 知りませんでした・・・。2CDで収録曲は以下の通り。

凄く簡単に説明するとDISC.1がBLUES, DISC.2はREGGAEという括り。ヴィンテージ・レコードのコレクターでも知られる彼らしいチョイスで、有名曲と隠れた人気曲が混在。これは「私のために作ってくれたのか？」と思えるような（笑）見事なセレクション。明日からのヘヴィー・ローテーションになるのは間違い無いです。
しかし彼の雑食ぶりは面白い！ 伝統的なブルースの中にいきなりKinksが収録されていたり、DISC.2では全くの若造であるSpecialsがトップ・バッターであったりと、らしい選曲が成されている。ちゃっかりお父上の演奏も入れたりで見事な親子愛。
こんなの聴くと、やはりロンドンも近いうちに行ってみたいと思う。
