I finally started enjoying playing the koto again. I had taken koto lessons for about ten years since I was eight years old, but completely forgot the pleasure to play it.

Actually, my youngest daughter’s best friend’s mother is an excellent koto player. She experienced a concert tour in the U.S.A. when she was 20 years old. Then, she wished she could speak English well. After her daughter grew up, she started learning English; she went to Canada to learn English for six months with her KOTO and played it here and there! As she knew I had a koto, she offered my youngest daughter and me lessons.

My husband, who just started his new life in a certain country, said to me, “You should come here with your koto like her!” I had never thought of such a thing, but… What an exciting idea! However, unfortunately, my skill isn’t good enough to play in front of people now. I will plan something special to entertain my husband’s friends there instead.

Anyway, I will keep practicing the koto while dreaming of going on concert tours around the world with her and our daughters!!
