Usually, you will find several versions of every book in the Old Testament. Many websites offer a free Old Testament download or an outline of each book so you can get a feel for the format. You can then go download each one on your computer and listen to it as you study. The idea behind this method is that each book is important and has its own place in the Old Testament timeline. So, you should read each one in order starting from the newest in the Old Testament to the most recent in the New Testament.

A great way to learn about the Bible from the start is to buy a DVD of a featured documentary about the Bible. Often times the filmmakers of these movies will include a documentary about the life of Jesus. Often the people involved in studying the New Testament will find themselves following the main storyline and wonder how the author of the Bible wrote each chapter.

The easiest way to learn about scripture is to just start racking up scriptures from the New Testament and then the Old Testament. Try not to become too attached or immersed in one verse of scripture. In fact, you don't even want to have any It's OK to bring a cross with you if you need to but leave the other scriptures at home. I personally like to have my computer open for all my daily activities and when I am reading my bible I either have my ebook opened, my morning cup of coffee or I'll have my morning paper. By doing this I have memorized what I needed To memorize. This way I just turn on the copy of my daily bible and I'm ready to read when I get up. Learning how to read the bible with this method helps a lot because it helps you get into a rhythm and really internalize the meaning of each passage.
