Honestly after that I can imagine an Imperial officer turning to the one next to him and saying quietly: Hang we the baddies.
I'm space engineering student and I actually have a friend and fellow student who hadn't seen any Star Wars movies AND didn't even know anything about them. We watched the original trilogy together on one day and actually witnessing someone completely oblivious experience THAT scene was something hard to describe. I just remember his utter look of disbelieve when he turned to me.
I love how the armour on an Imperial AT-AT becomes vulnerable to Rebel SnowSpeeder blaster fire as soon as the AT-AT falls forward on it's legs. LOL.

Under the circumstances, I got Lukes back.
I do love this version of the Joker, truly, though. I kinda wish he would smack his lips a little more? I don't think he did it enough in this movie.
Three years after George Lucas changed cinema with his 1977 mega hit STAR WARS its first sequel came out. To me this is the best of the whole series of films so far containing both secrets and the introduction of a few great characters to be added to the list of STAR WARS cast. To me as well this film sits only behind Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY in space stories put on screen.

Darth Vader (David Prowse, voice of James Earl Jones) is on the hunt for the Rebels. It looks like he has found them, so the Rebels are on the run to escape his clutches. Han Solo (wonderfully played by Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) bring along Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and C-3PO (Anthony Daniels) within the Millennium Falcon (which gets a lot of screen time in this film. Meanwhile Luke (Mark Hamill) is of the Dagobah system in search of Yoda (voice of Frank Oz) to continue his Jedi training.

This film is different than the original and really is much darker as the title of the film suggests. John Williams is back and with new themes like the amazing 'Imperial March' he has an even richer score than the original. I do believe Lucas did the right thing in bringing in two excellent screenwriters in Leigh Brackett and later Lawrence Kasdan. I have no idea who came up with what idea, but I am glad Lucas got some fresh perspectives and perhaps ideas to infuse into his space epic. As well as having veteran director Irvin Kershner direct the sequel. This film has everything a STAR WARS fan loves.

Also starring Billy Dee Williams who is pretty cool as Lando Chewie gets ahold of him and look fast for John Ratzenberger who plays Major Derlin.

This film is the Star Wars film that will always serve as the bar to which all Star Wars films that are released must strive to reach. The story is darker than the first, more interesting than the first, and has so many iconic moments that it is impossible not to think of them when you think of Star Wars. Amazing acting, characters, set pieces, effects, new worlds, arguably my favorite lightsaber duel in Star Wars, and plenty of great plot twists, this film is a truly legendary film.

That alone makes him seem like evil incarnate.

A friend of mine used to have toys of imperial walkers and all I remember is they were the worst quality toys ever! they were super light and the legs wouldn't bend right so the slightest move made them fall over. you couldn't do squat with them.

Anyone else sense Vader's extreme annoyance with his commanding officers by the tone of his voice at the beginning? I liked how he said Noooooo Captain. You know deep down he's very very close to force choking all of them to death.

Maybe you haven't been keeping up on current events but we just got our asses kicked pal.
I think this scene might be edited incorrectly. General Veers says he has reached the main shield generator to lord Vader when there is at least five more minutes of fighting until he blows it up. And then the imperial troops apparently have entered the base before the generator is down and before the rebels have retreated? Earlier in the film they say the field is strong enough to deflect any bombardment, so maybe Vader's landing craft could fly through the shield; okay. But why would Vader let the imperials bombard the base while he's searching through it for his son? Hallways are collapsing everywhere because of the bombardment which might crush him or Luke. It just seems like the empire has a problem with communicating.

Re: George Lucas's background: He got his start filming auto races. That's why he's so good at capturing a sense of speed.
I love the sound that one AT-AT made when it fell on its side after its head (the cockpit) blew up.
