とんぼをおいかけて・・ ～♪～

今年もヒヌマイトトンボ（絶滅危惧種）の観察会に行って来ました♪
I once again went to see Mortonagrion hirosei, an endangered damselfly.


私が一番かわいいなぁと思うのは、成熟途中の雌です。やわらかいミカン色です♪
My favorite is immature females. Its soft orange colour is so pretty!


成熟すると地味な感じになります。 When mature, its colour turns into rather a dull, dark colour.


雄には鮮やかな緑色の模様があります。 Male has a vivid green pattern on it.


交尾中のカップルもいました♪　 We were lucky enough to see a mating couple.


全身灰色のテネラル（羽化したばかりの個体）を、今回はじめて見ることができました。
It was the first time for me to see a teneral (right after emergence) who was grey all over.


ヨシの葉の上で休むミドリシジミ♪　This is Neozephyrus japonicus, resting on a leaf of reed.

ヒヌマイトトンボは、汽水ヨシ群落に生きる、体長３センチほどの華奢なトンボです。各地で開発が進み海岸沿いの生息地が減るにつれ、その数を減らしました。
Mortonagrion hirosei is a tiny, delicate creature with the length of 3 cm who lives in a reed community growing in brackish water. As land development expands in many coastal areas in Japan and their habitats is lost, the population of the species is also decreasing.


ここでは自然生息地に隣接させて人工のヨシ群落を作り、ヒヌマイトトンボを保護しています。In this site, they protect Mortonagrion hirosei by creating an artificial reed community adjacent to their original, natural habitat.
