Give me some access to internet at home
Here I am finally....I just moved into a new place in Isla Vista, which is really close to my school. That's why I moved.Anyway, things are going well at a new apartment except one thing.INTERNET!!!To get DSL here, I need to have a home phone line.And to get a new phone line, I have to wait for something like a week.I called Blue Casa, which is the phone company that I want to get service from.They said it would take 7 to 10 business days to set up a line.Well, strangely, we can use our phone currently.I called from our home phone to my cell phone, and it worked.Why is that???I'm confused???I'll now try to get a DSL, hopefully tomorrow.Then, setting up DSL will take probably a week or so.Man, I need Internet but can't get it.I'm writing this from a school computer.I thought I would have internet at home within at least a week after I moved in.This sucks.School is going to start in two weeks. Sorry for those who have written to me through Rakuten or emails.I'm so reluctant to go even to the school library, where I can surf internet.I might be here tomorrow again to write some.Oh by the way, I got 4 books out of 5 for my classes.They look intimidating.Lots of calculus, difficult concepts and so on.I started reading them so that I can get ahead just a bit.If you get them online, you pay only half of what you would pay at the bookstore.It's crazy.Tomorrow, my roommate and I will have two friends of his come over to our new apartment for dinner. I'm a little scared.Why?They are kind of like old friends of my roommate.Of course, they are all American.What I'm worried about is they have the same cultural background, but I don't.Wouldn't that make me kind of lost in the middle of conversation sometime?They all went to the same elementary, junior and high school.English is not what I'm worried about, but it's the culture.Hope I will have fun hanging out with them tomorrow night.I guess this is something I have to face to improve my English and to get used to this country.Oh well, good luck with me.We are going to have some sushi for dinner by the way.I looked up online how to make sushi rice.You actually need only rice, vinegar, sugar, and salt.That's cool.I guess we are going to make Californian Roll.That thing comes with freakin' avogado, which is very cheap and tasty.Nooooo...Boy, I'm telling you, avogado sucks.It is expensive and tastes unbearably terrible.(Maybe not that bad. I exaggerated too much...)But anyway, wish me luck.Okay, I've got to go back home and take a shower and have some dinner.I'm exhausted today, which I will tell you why later.Bye bye.
