I was shocked when Stephen King's novels in Ready Player One too.
It would be cool to see that picture with Johnny at the end of the Shining in this movie.
Small continuity error: in The Shining, both sides of the bathroom door are axed in, not just the side Jack sticks his face through.
I kept on thinking about Pokemon type effectiveness during this movie. Like ghosts are super effective against psychic types but Rose the Hat was almost more of a dark type.
You got to give props to Mike Flanagan here, he managed to balance Kubrick and king in the same movie which is a hard job to say the least.
The film's first act is arguably the best act of the film. I thought some parts in the film it lost it's tempo in the second act, but the nostalgic third act got my attention again, the overlook in this movie has been painfully recreated to a T. And the overlook felt scarier than ever, it really felt like a old reunion with a place we always wanted to visit again. Acting in this film was really good, Ewan McGregor as Danny Torrance was a match made in heaven, he really nails this part. You genuinely believe this is the same person who had those gruesome experience's in the 1980 shinning. The young girl Abra was a scene stealer, she really was fantastic In this role, she's a character the audience rooted for. She somehow makes the audience have an attachment with her. And last of all the villain rose played by Rebecca Ferguson, was a satisfying villain and a character you grow to hate. My biggest plus the soundtrack and the suspense is nailed in this movie, there truly is some great scares, intense heartbeats very Similar to those in Kubrick's masterpiece. But this mike Flanagan's movie and he has made the shinning fans very proud. Amazingly balanced movie. 9/10.

The Shinning is an example of how you correctly make a horror movie. Psychological and dread, not jump scares and sudden noises.

This film is by far the most underrated film of 2019! I watched it twice at the cinema and still feel like I want to watch it again. This scene is stunning.
It was such a good movie. Cant wait to watch it again now that it's out on BluRay.

I do agree that Jack sold his soul for a glass a beer and when he failed he was trapped inside the photo.
So I started reading the book Doctor Sleep because of this trailer and I had no idea how different the book version of The Shining was to the movie. I've only ever seen the movie. Anyway, now I don't know if this is going to be a sequel to the book or the movie, because they are obviously two very different stories. I am going to guess this is a sequel to the movie, because the hotel is destroyed by the end of the book. I learned that in the very beginning of Doctor Sleep. is going to the hotel in his mind... I don't know, I'm not that far into the book yet.
