I knew many English learners did shadowing or read aloud a certain text about a hundred times, but I didn’t think I could do such a thing. In fact, I never tried it.
Unexpectedly, I found shadowing fun through "Beauty and the Beast," so I chose a short text, "Better Education" from 「英語が英語のままわかる本」 as the next text. During cooking breakfast and cleaning up the kitchen, I did shadowing it about 50 times. Then, during cooking supper, I did another 50 times. I noticed that shadowing a short text a hundred times was much easier than I had thought. It was, rather, interesting!! I caught some new words every time. The only word I couldn’t catch was “rote,” because I didn’t know the meaning. After 30 trials, I began to enjoy shadowing by way of making a speech in front of people. I already started to look for the next text! Today’s new word rote=involves repeating something many times, without thinking about it carefully or without understanding お気に入りの記事を「いいね！」で応援しよう
