If you find yourself alone, fearful that you might be having a heart attack, you need to cough and then take a deep breath. Do this repeatedly until the chest pain subsides and you can do more. You should also chew an aspirin and take nitroglycerine if you have a cardiac history. And, immediately call 911 and tell them you may be having a heart attack and give them your exact location.
