Brief=On highways across America, a tribe of people called The True Knot travel in search of sustenance. They look harmless-mostly old, lots of polyester, and married to their RVs. A weird coincidence, but seeing the decomposed ghost of the baby with his mother reminded me of Ewan in Trainspotting with the neglected baby that died because his mother was an addict. Similar themes from both scenes.

I feel like I watched a different movie than most of the other reviewers here. Wtf was with the gypsies tracking down children with telekenetic powers and VAPING their souls. I am not kidding they vape their souls then shotgun give each other shotguns of the smoke. The characters and acting were all terrible not even Ewan McGregor could save this one. What a stinker, It felt like I was watching some tween garbage like twighlight.
In this movie's defense I never read the book so it may have just been a bad story altogether.
I hope this review saves some people some money and two and a half hours of their lives they will never get back.

I hope they're as faithful to the book as a film always; different medium, I know. But, if they keep the book ending then the almost 40 year wait will be totally worth it. BTW. Read both books; rewatch The Shining, then see Doctor Sleep.
I enjoyed the movie apart from the scene where the child is brutally mutilated and murdered. Did they really have to show that. Disturbing. Surprised it passed the censors.

The devil,evil identity at the bar didn't know or care for Danny's identity and had no idea It was wearing the mask of his father. It feeds off of toxic thoughts and looked for the same exact thoughts Jack had and started spitting them out,making him more identifiable as Jack. That hotel was just a prison of lost,poor,damaged soul's and the bar was a the huge trap for the poor suckers.😐😖😥.

Dr Sleep was really cool. Maybe the best horror movie of the year if it wasn't so long. There was a cool vampire element that I was not expecting to be mixed with the stuff from The Shining. Great movie for date night as it has something for everyone.

This movie feels like a typical Stephen King story, and that is the highest amount of praise that I can give it. Typical as in it is brilliant, genius, awesome. This movie has Great suspense, thrill, feel good moments, and Stephen King's typical story telling prowess. This movie is a journey, it builds up slowly, tying ends and locations from the first book or movie. In order to fully appreciate the references to the original and give you better perspective, I highly recommend reading the first book and/or watching the original movie by Stanley Kubrick(which in my opinion doesn't stick as close to the book) the tv series is much closer to the original story, but you should watch both, and once you watch doctor sleep you'll see why.
This movie is one of the much better Stephen King adaptations, and is very close to the source material. The ride, is amazing. Watch it in Imax. Also. I thought this movie was definitely scarier than IT. Creepier. In 2 hours and 32 minutes of the run time, the director actually took the time to do justice to the book. Highly, Highly recommended to fans of horror, suspense, and just plain good story telling in general.
