DC is getting left behind by Marvel, but nothing theyve done touches the Nolan trilogy.

'S. Laughter is the best medicine. Joker.
Take note of the genius when The Joker leaps to the electrocuted pawn. In all of about 2 seconds, he manages to 1. Radiate malice by kicking the dude when he's already down (people are disposable) 2. Laugh his ass off at the surprise electricity (misery is funny) 3. Emulate what some may describe as the feeling of being electrocuted (shaking his head back and forth and letting his mouth flop around) essentially making a sick joke of the situation, living up to his name. This scene is, in my opinion, the point in the movie where the natural instincts of The Joker are put on display, and we get a good view into who he really is. For a quick moment, he's not scheming or trying to manipulate anyone, instead he takes a quick victory lap and has a little fun, much like a kid on a playground.

I can watch this all day in Captain America's voice.
My Dark Knight Rises when i see CatWoman.
See I love the mcu. It will always come up with heroes vying to save the world and stand up for what's right. But Nolan showed us something with the dark Knight trilogy. Light can only persist in the presence of darkness. Order will always come out of chaos. And that realism will always win people's hearts.
