芝生化奮闘記

我がサッカークラブの小学校3－4年生チ－ムの交流試合を今日見ていたときの感想。

相手チームが地元小学校のグラウンドで練習をしている典型的なサッカー少年団です。当然土の上でのサッカーです。あそこのキーパーが立っているセーブが結構うまいけど、身体を投げ出してのセーブを一切しないです。

対するふかふかの芝生の上で練習している我がイーズクラブのキーパーと来たら、見事なダイビングセーブの連発です。身体のことを何一つ考えずに本能的に身体を投げての守護神的存在です。

試合に勝ったチームがどちらでしょう。それに、どちらの方が楽しく練習と試合が出来ているでしょう。

A few thoughts after watching the GST soccer club U10 team having a friendly match today.

The opposition was a kids soccer team affiliated to a local primary school and which trains on the dirt ground at that school. The goalkeeper was very proficient makign saves standing up, but not once did he pull off any diving saves.

In contrast, the EASE keeper, who trains on the luxuriant grass of Greenfield, pulled off superb diving save after diving save, not once stopping to think about his body.

Which team do you think won today's match? And which team enjoys their training and soccer more?
