Today I would like to talk about Japan's surrender memorial day. In the United States, it seems that the war ended in September 1945 when Japan accepted the Potsdam Declaration and ​​the Allied Forces ​​came to Tokyo Bay in September. Many foreigners may not know that August 15th is the anniversary of the end of the war, the day when His Majesty the Emperor of Japan declared the end of the war to the Japanese people on August 15th.

  Even though the formal surrender document had not yet been signed, the emperor declared that Japan had lost the war. I was born after the Pacific War ended, so I don't know the details, but the war must have been with the Emperor. Therefore, many people broke down in tears when they heard the words of His Majesty the Emperor.

  On the battlefield, many soldiers shouted, "Hurray for His Majesty the Emperor," and died in the battle field. In order to protect his family and the emperor system, soldiers who were not yet 20 years old flew into the enemy fleet in planes called Zero fighters. This is called a special attack, as you all know it. General MacArthur, who came to Japan, took into consideration the Japanese emperor system and did not make the emperor a war criminal.

The end of the war was signed on the battleship Missouri on 2 September. I think this day is the anniversary of the end of the war.
