Xiaomi has launched a lot of products in the last 10 days, even more than we are used to, practically every other day. First we went to the AmazFit Health, a sports bracelet, for two days later to see the Xiaomi Weloopp Hey 3S sports smartwatch. Xiaomi Aqara Smart Curtain: ZigBee

Today, Xiaomi has released a new rare product: a curtain controller over WiFi. This is MI home’s 81st product to be released using Xiaomi’s crowdfunding method, which always ends up being funded. Its name is Aqara Smart Curtain Controller, which is basically a curtain controller that can be managed through the WiFi of our mobile or Xiaomi gadgets.

Specifically, the Aqara Smart Curtain uses the ZigBee 802.15.4 low-power WiFi protocol, and connects to the home automation kit Xiaomi Smart Home, which we analyzed last August. Thanks to the connection to the Smart Home, the engine can be controlled through the mobile without any problem through the Mi Home application. With it, we can also program the opening time of the curtains, as well as the time at which they should be closed or the specific percentage of opening that we want.

Totally customizable and automatable to our taste

In addition to being able to control it via the mobile phone, we can also use Xiaomi’s wireless switch, which can be configured to open and close the curtains simply by pressing the button once. If you already want a more personalized automation, you can use the step sensor that includes one of the kits of the Xiaomi Smart Home to open the curtains when passing through it, and close when we pass again when we leave the room. The Aqara also features door and window measurement, as well as custom rails.

If you don’t want to use the Smart Home and just want to use the engine, it has a touch button to use it. With a simple touch, the curtains will open. The motor is designed so that if it encounters resistance or obstruction in its movement, it stops automatically. The noise made by the device is only 30 dB, so it is really quiet and hardly noticeable with respect to the ambient noise that may be at home, which in the city comfortably exceeds that figure.

The price of the Aqara Smart Curtain is 999 yuan, which is equivalent to 133 euros. It will go on sale on 15 June. The weight of the device is 50 kg, so it will be very difficult for any export store to be encouraged to sell outside China.
