Good explanation. Like all of his films it takes either a little thinking or a little research to really to get to the bottom of the real story behind it. Try watching one of his earlier ones, the Greek film Dogtooth. Thats a really odd film, but when you know the meaning behind it it makes a lot of sense.

In the beginning of this episode the old Korean guy from the Korean spa remote was in a comedy bit as Prince's son sitting among the audience where he was hilariously horrible.

Was this a comedy? Instead of Colin Farrell they should have cast Ron Jeremy for the lead role.
I saw this film yesterday, within the panorama for European film festival in Cairo, Egypt And i was greatly a film to win in a renowned festival like Cannes, it has to have brilliant elements,which this film sadly came short of Slow motion, boring. un necessary nude could have been avoided easily without harming the course of actions nor the conversations... i fell asleep literary towards mid film. Apart from acting of main characters Nicole Kidman and. Farrel the rest of actors. average level of acting nothing amazing. The lobster. by far better, original and more creative in all aspects than this film ( same director) This film is a revival of the Greek mythology of killing a precious person in your life in order to save yourself and i believe it could have been executed way better than that I don't recommend this film.

This is my take on it does not have any powers but probably believes he does due to the fact that he is totally fk... d up in the head. But once he convinces his victims of their doomed faith the psychosomatic symptoms start to show. This is how a curse supposedly works. However as Martin points out to the father he is not very smart which is how you need to be to allow such irrational fears to to take hold. Hence why billions of people have been and still are controlled by organized religions through preaching fear to the ignorant. Also psychosomatic symptoms are reconized by the medical profession. In fairness to the father he starts off quite rational but events take over him and in the end the whole family are all acting a bit Donald Trump.
Would've been hilarious if the entire curse had been lifted if they just killed the dog.

I was so upsset after this movie. the young boy made me want to cry. i couldn't believe he had to go through all of that. and the one time he became close to his father and made a connection it had to be to save his own life. that part of the story just tore me apart. the daughter pissed me off so bad. she was so nonchalant because the boy promised she would be okay and she was so evil to her brother when his eyes were bleeding. made me sick. so overall, a real downer and disturbing film. ugh.
You're more promoting it than explaining it lol! Oh and hope you'll be more direct to the point next time when you explain a movie! Just watch it on DVD and i was wanting a point of view on the ending coz for me the ending is an open debate and it's like it's up to the viewer what she/he wants to think what's goes on after the movie.

Trust me, this is a really poor film. Waste your money if you feel like it but I would advise you to read a bit about the film before you see it. I did not and I regret seeing it. It is such a vaste of time...
