Fan Tan, one of the oldest traditional Chinese games, that has gained popularity in casinos for its simplicity. It literally means "repeated divisions" which refers to the beads divided into columns consisting of 4 rows of beads and the rest of the beads of the final group are counted, depending on which bets are won and lost.

Basic rules

In Fan Tan, a square is marked in the center of a table and the sides are identified as 1, 2, 3 and 4. On each side the word "Fan' is written, and numbers are also marked on every corner of the square. Game Terms

Fans - It is the common bet that you can make in Fan Tan. It's a bet on a specific number on the table, and is a high risk bet in Fan Tan.

For example, if you're betting on 2 beads, and you place your bets on "2 Fan," you'll win if your final batch is made up of two beads.

Odd and even - The player is able to bet either the even or the odd character of the last batch of beads.

Zheng - in the 'Zheng zone, if you bet on a particular number on the table, but the number of beads are the same as its opposite number, you lose. If the number of beads are exactly the same as the number you bet on, then you win.

For instance, if you bet on "1 Zheng' If the final round includes 3 beads, you'll lose. If it's got 4 or 2 beads, then you draw. If the final batch has just one bead, you win.

Nim - If you're betting in the 'Nim' area in the game, and you place your bet for the initial number i.e it's the number to the left of "Nim", and the number of beads equals the number, you will take home a winning. If you place your bet on the number to the right of 'Nim' as long as the amount of beads are identical to it, you draw. If it's a different number the bet is lost.

For instance, if you're betting on the '2 Nim 3' and the number of bead in your final mix is 3 you draw. In the event that the total number of beads is two, then you're winning the bet. If the number of beads is between 1 and 4 and you lose the wager.

Kwok - If you're betting in the "Kwok" section of the table If the amount of beads is equal to either one of the numbers that are in the betting area, then you win. If not, you lose the wager.

For instance, if betting on '3 4' in the Kwok section in the table, and the total number of bead in your final collection is equal to either 3 or 4, you're winning the bet. If the amount of beads are equal to 1 or 2 then you lose.

Tong - When you bet in the "Tong" section on the table, players wager on three numbers. The first two numbers to win, and the third to lose. Tong bets comprise "1Tong", "2Tong", "3Tong" and "4Tong" If the number of beads of the last batch is equal to the Tong number, then you lose. Otherwise, you will draw.

For example, if you're placing bets on "2 three" on the table in the "4Tong area on the table you'll win the bet when the number of beads is equal to at least 2. If the number of beads is greater than 4 and you lose your bet. When the last batch has only one bead the player draws.

Chun - When you're betting in the 'Chun' area of the table, you wager on the chance that the amount of beads equal with one number within the betting section. If the amount of beads that make up the last batch are not the same as any of three numbers then you lose the wager.

For instance, if you're betting on "1 2 3' in the Chun section on the table you win the bet if the amount of beads is greater than 1, 2 or 3. If the total number of beads that make up the last batch equals to 4, then you lose your wager.
