Infinitely likable tale about a fairytale love story concerning a lonely princess and her dashing hero. This unusual film is refreshingly different, being at once funny, exciting and moving. A large amount of the credit must go to William Goldman's screenplay, adapted from his own novel; and director Rob Reiner's ability to pull it all together in just the right way.
Mark Knopfler's simple theme music, Norman Garwood's production design and Adrain Biddle's cinematography all compliment proceedings.
The cast round things off, with Robin Wright making her debut alongside the debonair Cary Elwes. Chris Sarandon, Christopher Guest and Wallace Shawn are all suitably malevolent while Andre the Giant has a ball. Peter Falk, Billy Crystal and Carol Kane all drop by, while Mandy Patinkin is great as master Spanish swordsman Inigo Montoya.

I remember first simply reading the title of the movie, Princess Bride, and was put off of it at first. I eventually reached this scene, which wasn't that far into the movie thankfully, and realized that I was watching a good movie. Felt good finally seeing this guy finally getting his revenge.
I have to say that the music (by Mark Knopfler) in this scene just makes the whole thing for me.

Is it possible for anyone to dislike this movie? It's been on my desert-island-all-time top five list of favorites since I've seen it and it never dropped off. It's always wonderful and this swordfight is but a fraction of it's perfection. That said, this swordfight is the standard to which I hold all cinematic swordfights I have seen. Few can compare.
