Story=In ancient times, the Elven-smiths created the Rings of Power. Then the Dark Lord Sauron created a Ring to rule the Lesser Rings. The way Gandalf says Good gracious me. among many other lines of dialogue in this scene always remind me what made this movie so great.
This makes me think of the Spartans falling at Thermopylae.

I like this movie, but I like the book better. I'm just now half way reading it for the 6th time over the last 40 years or so. Watching these scenes on youtube, I have to say they definitely rewrote the dialogue for higher movie going drama.
