舞台となるのは、昭和初期の別府温泉。

♪この高原を中心に、東西南北にひろがる、鶴見のすその一帯は、温泉地帯とよびなして五マイル四方の其の中に、湯口の数は約二千、出で湯の量は一昼夜、およそ二十と五万石、さすが別府でございます♪・・・。
