lt was the first Japan Seriesmeeting between the Lion and the Giants in four years.
Four Giant hurlers combined on a seven-hitter andstruck out 13. Second pitcher Hajime Kato, who relieved starter Musumi Kuwata, was credited with the victory.
He allowed only one hit over 3*1/2 innings.
