I went to three venues a day actually.lol
First,BMI composers workshop at Marjorie S.Deane little Theater. Many talented composers appeared and performed their original tunes with incredible NewYork Jazz Orchestra. So far I haven’t been very familiar with bigband music, but since I came here NewYork,my new interest for it is kicking in.I happened to meet many wonderful people,Migiwa Miyajima,Miho Hazama,Emi Matsushita, and Ted Nash again. What a surprising!Thank you Nabuko-san&James again!
Then headed to Drom to see Mingus Bigband.
Philip Harper who I just met at Smalls the other day could invited us.Really enjoyed their dynamic, creative, exciting styles!Especially I like the pianist’s performance. I couldn’t help but stare and listen..Thanks so much Philip…!
Then, the big surprise was coming.Tommy Campbell was at the venue!! My friend Bennie Sims just introduced me to him and we were just getting in touch with each other…what a happening!
Then went to Mezzrow to see and say hello to Ryo Sasaki! We could meet and talk and jumped into the session again.Got some new friends there.I’m especially grateful for Ben Rice of his all kindness..so I really appreciated all the happenings around me…!
