Food for the Soil !!!
Our breakfast is helping our plants to grow. The coffee grounds contain many nutrients including minerals, carbohydrates, some vitamins, and caffeine. (Some believe that adding caffeine to a plant will help it to grow faster.)They are particularly useful on those plants for which needs “acid food” such as blueberries, evergreens, azaleas, roses, camellias, avocados, and certain fruit trees.Be careful to use the wet coffee ground and don’t put them too thick; the coffee grounds have a tendency to get moldy. I scatter them after drying them in the oven. Or I bury them in the soil.Eggshells are 93% calcium carbonate, 1% nitrogen, about a half-percent phosphoric acid, and other trace elements that make them a practical fertilizer. And I learned that adding a banana peel into the soil mix from the movie “Seven pounds”; the “seven pounds” refers to Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice” where creditors demanded their “pound of flesh” no matter how painful the repayment would be to the debtors. Will Smith's character killed seven people at the car crush, because of him.His redemption for his sins is to payback with the equivalent of 7 pounds of flesh. The movie was so-so. I think some people saw this movie will become organs donors. I hope I can help some unfortunate people when I die. (It won’t be my atonement, though.)The “jellyfish suicides” might give bad ideas to some people.Anyway, apparently as banana peel decays nutrient rich elements are released to the benefits of the plants. My parents are making the organic fertilizers from raw garbage such as scraps of vegetables, fish and chicken bones. My dad rents lots for gardening. He grows vegetables without the use of any chemical fertilizers or pesticides. It’s very Eco-Friendly.I think I will make a compound with a trash can.I don’t think I will grow vegetables, which would become food for deer and our backyard animals, but I like to have more flowers, another deer food.
