ゼロについて&現在完了形
◎ Sunday, April 16thEvery Sunday starts with an English lesson with a localelementary school teacher at 9:00 in the morning. In this lesson, we tried to orally translate some pagesof a text book used in social study class. This lesson was followed by another one. After this lesson, I went to Kotake Town, a neighboringtown some kilos away from Iizuka City.I taught English to a young man.In order to improve his listening skills,I now focus on pronunciation and rhythm training with him. He's cool and good-looking.I asked him if he had dated with any young lady andhe answered, "No". This was a big surprise to me.He seemingly is nicely naive. In the afternoon, I received a parcel.A book was in it. It was "ゼロの発見" by 松本道弘.I had been looking for this out-of-print book fornearly ten years, and at last, I found one through theInternet. His story about his trip to India, Tibet and Nepalwas very impressive and inspiring to me.I used to read this book at a city library when I livedin Nagoya City.I now enjoy reading this book and think how I should beas an English instructor.I've already decided to have "ゼロ" mind or attitude towardmy deshis and students.Zero is special number, quite different from other numbers. It is the end and also the start. Zero is comprehensive, deep and strong. Zero can assimilate and absorb any other numbers. I must support my deshis and students with zero-mind,and help(inspire) them (to) have good opportunities in their life before leaving for Tokyo.(I might decide to leave here earlier than planned, depending on various situations.)-----------------------------------------------◎ Monday, April 17th I had two English lessons: In the first lesson, we practicedpronunciation and linking. In the second lesson, we studied the truth of 現在完了形.The Japanese name of 現在完了形 should be changedinto a better one, say "気持ち継続形" or something like that.If we still feel something about your activity for a long timeafter you did it, you can use 現在完了形. This is my idea.Of course, there are some grammatical conditionsfor us to be able to use 現在完了形.In the afternoon, I began to feel sick with a sore throat. This must be the first sign of a cold to me.So, I took some medicines, but unfortunately, I became sleepy and then I stopped working.-------------------------------------------Ken
