カネカの炎上劇場を英語で説明してみた
カネカのニュースをみなさんご存じですか?地上波ではやってないのかな?広告主の影響力は強いな。ざっくり説明すると、3週間の育休明け2日目に夫が東京から大阪転勤を言い渡される。4か月の赤ん坊と2歳の子供がおり、家を買って引っ越して10日目というタイミング。嫁も育休あけでフルタイムジョブありなのでせめて1か月後の転勤を、1,2か月先に延ばしてほしいと伝えるが不可。結局夫は退職することにしたが、有給すらとらせてもらえなかった。嫁がこの事をツイッターで書いたら見る間に拡散し会社がカネカであることも判明し、批判が集まる。カネカは自社サイトの育休に関するページを削除。さらに批判を浴び、株価は今年最安値に落ち、来年入社予定の学生からは辞退を申し入れられる。てな感じです。会社の対応がイチイチ悪手で、わざとやってるのかと思うレベル。カゾクのネガイをカナエないカネカ劇場から目が離せない。あんまり面白いので、海外の人事関連の仕事をしている友人に以下のように教えました。(追記)カネカがコメントを発表しました。会社として対応に問題はなかったそうです。子供2人もいる人に本の数週間後に転勤を伝えるってどれだけ社員を大事に思っているかが分かる事例ですね。数年でこの事件の記憶は消えても、ネット上の記録は残る。その時の転職者や、大学卒業者がこの記録を見てこの会社に入ろうと思うかな?大金を広告宣伝に使っても、1つのツイートでぶち壊しになってる。I'd like to share vary interesting study case of HR incident in Japan. One man just returned to his job from 3 week child care leave in April. On second day of his return, he was told he would be transferred from Tokyo to Osaka in May. He had 2 children 2 yr and 4 months at day care centre and a wife who were also just back to her job from child care leave. Besides, he just had his home only a month ago. If he was moved to Osaka, his wife had to take care of 2 children and full time job at the same time. (Baby sitting service is not common in Japan. It is ultimately difficult to find day care centre for their ages in Tokyo.) So he accepted the transfer, but asked to change its time from May to June or July, since there was no urgent task to do in Osaka. The request was denied, and official organizations couldn't do anything for him. As a result, he decided to quit his job. Then the company didn't even allow him to take his annual leaves. This is not a rare case in Japan. However the wife tweeted this event. She didn't name which company. Within the day it gained so much attention on the net, and people found out the company was Kaneka, a big chemistry company with 10,000 employees, and they rushed to blame Kaneka. Kaneka deleted the page of child care leave policy from their website and commented that it was not sure if the man was really belonged to Kaneka. Guess what happened next. The situation got even worsened. Its stock price marked the lowest of this year, and several college students turned down official job offer of 2020.
