おしゃぶり訴訟:ベビー用品会社と東京地裁で和解成立 おしゃぶりの長期間使用で歯やあごに障害を生じたとして、横浜市の母子がベビー用品会社「コンビ」(東京都)に約900万円の賠償を求めた訴訟は21日、東京地裁(菅野雅之裁判長)で和解が成立した。和解条項でコンビは、おしゃぶりが歯やあごに与える影響を調査・研究し、安全性の高い製品提供などに努力するとした。和解金は公表されなかった。 訴えによると、長女(7)が生後2カ月から約3年半、同社発売のドイツ製おしゃぶりを1日12~15時間使用したところ、かみ合わせが悪くなり、歯にすき間ができた。母親らは「会社が長期間の使用を控える表示を怠った」と主張していた。【北村和巳】毎日新聞 2008年3月21日 20時23分Baby products firm pacifies litigant who sued over pacifiersYokohama-based baby products company Combi Corp. has reached an out-of-court settlement with a woman who sued after her daughter's teeth became crooked because she sucked too long on a pacifier, Tokyo District Court officials said.Combi has agreed to conduct a study on the effects that using pacifiers can have on the development of teeth and jaws, and promised to try and produce items with the highest possible safety standards.It also paid an undisclosed sum to the plaintiff."The company neglected to inform buyers that they should avoid using pacifiers for a long time," the plaintiff, a mother of a 7-year-old girl, said.The woman's suit said that her daughter used for about 3 1/2 years from the age of 2-months on a German-made pacifier Combi sold in Japan. The girl sucked on the pacifier for about 12 hours to 15 hours a day, and according to the suit the pacifier limited her biting capabilities and caused gaps in her teeth.
