RAA 2008 Rules
来年のRAAのルールの原案が出来ました決定では無いのですがLMP-1クラスにはスーパー32が使用可能です傾向としてはノーマグに移行してるので私には良い事です。RAA 2008 Rules Introduction:There are four classes in the RAA for 2008: Two LMP, and two GT. LMP-1 is open and magnetless. LMP-M is open and allows magnets. GT-1 is full-mod, fast motor, kit/RTR based, magnetless. GT-2 is reserved for beginners, or those who have placed low in RAA ’07. GT-2 allows penalty-free tuning during the first three races, for low placing cars. Cars are limited-mod RTR, slower motored, and magnetless. General Car Rules apply to all classes. Body and motor lists are grouped by class. LMP-1 class rules:LMP1.a) Body must be an open or closed cockpit LMP class car which raced during the years 1999-2008. LMP1.b) Chassis is open. May be constructed of any material, any configuration, provided General rules are followed (see below). No traction magnets permitted. LMP1.c) Motor is open. May be modified. Motors which trip overload protectors, slow other cars on the track, or cause other problems due to excessive current draw, may be excluded from racing. LMP-M class rules:LMPM.a) Body same as LMP-1. LMPM.b) Chassis same as LMP-1, except any number of magnets may be used. The total magnetic downforce, exclusive of car weight, must not exceed [350 or TBD] grams on a Magnet Marshal (MM). In order to simplify and standardize measurements, all the magnets, and motor, must be spaced no farther apart than the length of the MM attractor bar, and all magnets must be behind the guide. www.132slotcar.us will supply a Magnet Marshal, with option to buy at discount, to all entrants who have paid their RAA entry fee. Cars which stick to track rails may be excluded from racing. LMPM.c) Motor same as LMP-1. GT1 class rules: GT1.a) Body must be a two door, closed cockpit car which raced in any GT series during the years 1999-2008, including ACO/LM, ALMS, FIA GT, Rolex Grand Am, JGTC, and any national GT. GT1.b) Chassis must be kit or RTR based, but may be modified. Chassis material is open. No traction magnets permitted. Wheels, tires, gears, axles, guides, braids, wires, motors, bearings, and fasteners may be modified or replaced by any manufacturer’s parts. GT1.c) Motor must be on the GT1 or GT2 list. Motor must be unmodified, as-manufactured, series produced, and commercially available. Electronics such as suppressors may be removed. Shafts may be shortened, driven through, and pinions changed. GT1.d) Complete car must weigh at least 100 grams. GT2 class rules:GT2.a) Body same as GT1.GT2.b) Chassis must be RTR based only. Original body-chassis combination must be used. Modifications are limited to guide-mount reinforcement, with any additional pieces limited to 1” maximum dimension. Motors may be fastened in place using tape, screws, or glue. No traction magnets permitted. Wheels, tires, gears, axles, guides, braids, wires, motors, bearings, and fasteners may be modified or replaced by any manufacturer’s parts. GT2.c) Motor must be on the GT2 List. Motor must be unmodified, as-manufactured, series produced, and commercially available. Electronics such as suppressors may be removed. Shafts may be shortened and pinions changed. GT2.d) Complete car must weigh at least 100 grams. GT2.e) This class is reserved for beginners, or those who have placed near the bottom in RAA’07. GT2 allows special treatment during the first three races of RAA’08. Cars may be repaired, retuned, or have parts replaced without penalty during the first three races, provided they place in the bottom 10% of the entire RAA field. After these first races, normal repair penalties apply (see below), and the cars may not be further tuned. General Car Rules (apply to all classes):G.a) Injection molded or resin bodies only, no vacuum formed or blow molded bodies, 1/32 through 1/30 scale. Maximum width is 2.60”. G.b) Tires may not project beyond body when positioned at maximum side play of wheels and suspension. G.c) Guide may not project beyond body when aligned for straight, and viewed from directly above.G.d) All wheel drive, and multiple motors, may be used only if the actual car used them. G.e) Cars must have sufficient ground clearance to permit free running without contacting track. Cars which drag on track may be excluded. G.f) Clear window material must be used where the real car has clear material. G.g) Racing numbers must be visible in three places on body. Bodies may be repainted in fantasy or realistic liveries. G.h) Headlights and tail lights are required, but are not required to actually illuminate. G.i) Rear wing must be in place if actual car was raced in RAA-eligible classes with wing. G.j) Interior must include, at minimum, dashboard top. Rear shelf is required under rear window, if car has rear window. G.k) Driver figure must be injection molded or other solid material, with head, shoulders, arms, hands, and at least partial steering wheel. Vac-formed or paper drivers are prohibited. G.l) Reasonable, scale appearing inserts are required in wheels, unless wheels have scale appearance and detail. Blank disc wheels, and wheels pierced with simple holes, must be covered with inserts. For example, Kai’s multi-hole “Alfa” wheels have sufficient detail to be permitted without inserts, but anything with less detail must have inserts. G.m) Minimum wheel size is nominal 15mm diameter over rib, or a scale 15” (.47”) diameter over rim, unless actual car raced with smaller wheels. G.n) Slot.It Low Profile Zero Grips (SIPT-015) tires, and others of that size are prohibited, due to non-scale appearance. G.o) Minimum front tire width is 8mm. Front tires may be profiled so that a narrower area contacts track, but must otherwise be full width. G.p) Tires may be of any material, but must be black. Clear finish may be applied to front tire tread area. No chemical treatment (such as oil soaking) is permitted. G.q) It is requested that entrant’s name, and body screw adjustment information, be written on underside of chassis in paint or silver Sharpie. __________________________________________________
