■ 「油屋熊八」・・・帰国して大阪に戻ったものの、相場師としてのカンは戻らずじまい・・・

これでは人生ちっとも面白くない・・・


■ アメリカでの貴重な体験や知識を生かし、あのスケールの大きい観光地を、日本につくったらどうだろうか。


■ 人の心に安らぎと、喜びを与える仕事がしたい・・・

国や社会や人々にとって、有益な仕事がしたい。


■ その夢を結ぶ土地として、熊八は新興の温泉地、別府を選んだ。


■ 「旅人をねんごろにせよ」という聖書の言葉が、熊八のきれい禿げた頭に、ふとひらめいた。

「そうだ、別府に一流人が泊まれる、宿をつくろう」と！・・・・・。


■ 写真は、昭和６年、別府につくったホテルの２０周年記念に、画期的！３００人を招待す。

■ Kumahachi's beautifulness flashed the Biblical word to which I say "Of a traveler, oh, when, it was false." suddenly for the head who receded.

"Said, I'll make the inn where an aristocracy can stay in Beppu."!......


■ The picture is remarkable in 20th anniversary commemoration in the hotel where I made Beppu in 1931! 300 people are invited.
