■ 「富士山に大標柱」

別府宣伝協会の面々は、揃いも揃ってデカイことが好きだった。


■ 「山は富士、海は瀬戸内、湯は別府」・・・

というキャッチフレーズを熊八がつくると、それを標柱にして目立つところに・・・・・

バーンと立てようということになった。


■ 結局、凡平たちは富士山へ登り、その標柱を立てた。たしかに日本でいちばん目立つ場所だ。


■ 熊八は標柱作戦が好きで、全国あちこちの名勝地に「九州別府温泉、亀の井ホテル建設予定地」・・・・・

という柱を勝手に立ててあるいた。

北は秋田県の十和田湖畔にまで、立てたという。

■ 写真は、別府駅前「熊八翁モニュメント」・・・山は富士、海は瀬戸内、湯は別府。

Kita says that you could even leave for Towada lakeside in Akita-ken.
