Question: I am a foreigner and Japanese college student (a graduate school for 2 years). I am now going to graduate this March. But I do not have any job yet. Besides my visa will expire soon. What should I do about my visa?
Answer:
In case of a student of 2 years college, 4 years college and graduate school, it is possible for you to change your "College Student"visa to "Temporary Visitor" visa (90 days). So you can continue to look for your job.
If you can not find out your job within this period, it is also possible to extend your "Temporary Visitor" visa to "90 days". 90
For that, you have to do this procedure at Immigration Bureau before your visa expires. And tell about the change of your visa to your college.
If you want to know details, ask your college, please.
The documents you submit at Immigration Bureau is usually bellow. (1) Application Form (2) Copy of your passport (3) Materials to prove for you to support your life (4) Diploma (or Expectation)
During this period, if you might get "Permission"of "The activities beyond your status", you can take a part time job legally( within 28 hours a week).
