昨日はマイミクさんの習っているアフリカンダンスの先生のライブが国分寺で催され
ると伺い、行ってきました。場所は国分寺駅南口から１５分ほど歩いた「Cafe
Slow」。

I went to Kokubunji to see African Dance Live. My mixi friend informed me
his dance instructor was playing in the show. The place is "Cafe Slow" where
you walk about 15 minutes from Kokubunji Station.

そもそもアフリカンダンスというものが何か知らなかったのですが、以前勤務してい
た会社の同僚がアフリカの太鼓にはまっていたので、一度見てみたいと伝えていたの
です。

I did not know anything about African dance. I knew that one of my
ex-co-worker was really into African drams.So I had told him that I would
like to know what it is like.

演奏者の一人が現れ、木琴のようなものを演奏し始めます。そして、一人一人演奏者
が前に来て、いよいよライブの始まりです。演奏は打楽器中心。時々意味のわからな
い言語で歌を歌います。リズムに合わせて観客が身体をゆする。とても不思議な空
間。ですが、初めてでも楽しめました。太鼓のリズムが魂に響く感覚です。そのリズ
ムに乗ったダンスは激しく、躍動感であふれてました。

One of the player came to the front and started playing something similar to
a xylophone. And other player appeared one by one then the show started.
Most of the music were played by percussions and sometimes they sang a song
in a language hardly understood. The audience swung their bodies with the
rhythm.Very strange atmosphere. But I, as a beginner, by myself had a good
time there. Feelings that the rhythm of drams vibrated my soul. The dancer
moved her body up and down jumping with her passion.

昨日は自分が本当に日本にいるのかどうかわからなくなるような変な日でした。

Yesterday was a wired day because I felt lost and wondered if I was in Japan
or not.

ライブのメンバーは全員日本人で、アフリカの音楽を奏でる。お昼を食べた品川駅内
のカレーレストランでは、コックさんは全員中東の人で、ウエイトレスは全員韓国語
でしゃべっている。

All players played African music are Japanese. And the curry restaurant I
ate has chefs from middle east and all waitress communicate in Korean.

こんな風にいろんな文化を受け入れながら、一方では秋葉原のオタク文化、渋谷のス
トリートファッションを世界に発信している東京。面白い都市です。

So Tokyo contains various culture, meanwhile it has created and sent Otaku
culture from Akihabara and street fashion from Shibuya to the world. I found
Tokyo very interesting city.
