"Desperate Housewives" is American TV series which is so popular to be considered as the greatest TV show in this time. In Japan, NHK began broadcasting it from last fall. But actually, when I tried to watch it, its episode was almost the last one. So I gave up watching it, though I knew it was one of the hottest topic among bloggers who learn English.

And at last, I watched it this morning on DVD. It was interesting! I could understand the reason why it held so mamy people's mind.

The first episode open with a suicide. One housewife, who spent the morning with her family as usual, shoots herself into the head suddenly. This is enough to hook us! In fact, I gasped in surprise for this unexpected beginning.
This series also includes the element of mystery, thriller, satire and comedy.

I watched it in Japanese, so next time I'm watching in English.

「デスパレートな妻たち」をＮＨＫで見ようと思ったときにはすでに最終話にちかく、見るのをあきらめました。英語学習ブロガーの間ではとてもホットな話題だったのになあ。
でも今朝やっとＤＶＤで見られました。おもしろかったです。いつもとまったく変わらぬ朝を過ごしていた主婦の突然のピストル自殺。これでつかみはＯＫでしょう。私は意外なスタートに息を呑みました。ミステリ、スリラー、風刺、コメディーの要素がこの物語には詰まっています。
