35、環境破壊
① When we reflect /on the global situations of today /even for a while, we surely
see /that our planet is now in danger.
「私たちが良く考えてみると、今日の地球の状況について、少しの間でさえ、私たちは
確かに分かる、私たちの地球が今危険な状態にあると。」
Tropical rain forests are being destroyed/in the name of development, and
in addition, acid rain is doing serious damage/to forests/ all over the world.
「熱帯雨林は破壊され続けている、開発の名の元に、そして加えて、酸性雨が深刻な
被害を与えている、森林に、世界中の。」
People in Africa, Brazil and Indonesia are cutting down their forests /to export
lumber.
「アフリカ、ブラジル、インドネシアの人々は彼らの森を切り倒している、材木を輸出
するために。」
Rare plants and animals are in danger of dying out /because they have lost their
habitats.
「希少な植物や動物が絶滅の危機にある、何故ならそれらがそれらの生息地を失ってい
るからだ。」
Grasslands are turning into deserts /due to overgrazing, and soil is becoming less
productive/ on account of long exposure/to the sun and wind.
「草原は砂漠に変わりつつある、過密放牧のせいで、そして土壌は生産力を少なくしてい
る、長いことさらされるために、日光や風に。」
Now we are also faced /by other environmental problems, such as air pollution.
「今また私たちは直面している、他の環境問題に、大気汚染のような。」
