■ また、染め物で染料を反物に固定させる「媒染剤（ばいせんざい）」として、不可欠なものであった。


■ 古くは中国からの輸入によって賄われていたが、江戸時代に入り国内産のミョウバン製造が活発となり・・・・・

品質も向上し、盛んに生産されるようになった。


■ 写真、この「湯の花小屋」からつくられる湯の花・・・・・

その「湯の花」から「ミョウバン」がつくられた。

　　しかし、時代が替わり！科学が進み・・「ミョウバン」の市場が離れていった。

　　時代が今！別府湯の花小屋から産する「別府湯の花」・・・
