３・・セメントのあく抜き。

４・・（写真）漬物の色をよくする（茄子のはや漬けでは色を鮮やかにする、歯切れもよくする、茄子のぬかみそ漬けも、美しい色に仕上がる）。


５・・ゴボウ・栗などを煮る前に、焼きミョウバンを溶かした液（０、０１％程度）で、あくぬきすると煮崩れしにくくなる。


６・・染色剤、防水剤、消火剤、皮なめし剤、沈殿剤などの用途があり、古代ローマから使われてきた。
質の悪い水にミョウバンを入れて、不純物を沈殿させて飲用に使った！・・・。
