Happy New Year to you!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and are enjoying a good festive season, and you are all keeping well.

This is a notice for this year's New Year's Party - Shinnenkai 新年会. It will take place at St Philip's Church Hall in Evington, Leicester as below:

Saturday 26th January at 6:30 - 8:30 pm
St Philip's Church
Evington Road
Leicester LE2 1QN

*opposite a mosque, parking is at the back of the church and on the street - should be easy.

There will be Japanese supper prepared by a Japanese catering team and Japanese cultural activities such as Aikido demonstration by Kyushinkan led by Mr Peter Brown; Ikebana arrangement for the New Year by Mrs Mary Wadsworth of Ikebana International Leicester Chapter; Display on Japanese Books on history and culture; Japanese traditional toys which will be played by everyone. There will also be some Japanese goods for sale to raise funds for the Society. *Your donation of Japanese goods for this purpose is most welcome. Please would you drop me a line if you have such items with you?

It is time of year to meet up with your friends and make new friends, networking, etc., and to celebrate the Japanese new year together.

If you would like to come to this, please would you let me know by Thursday 17th January for catering preparation purposes. The number is limited to 50, so please reserve your place early.
The costs are as below:

Adults - 11 pounds including a glass of wine or soft drink
Students over 16 yrs - 8 pounds including a glass of wine or soft drink depending on the age
Children - 5 pounds including a soft drink
Chidren under 3 - free

As previous years this is a joint occasion with the Diocese of Leicester Japan Link Committee who is subsidising some of the costs for the evening.
