　国際関連報道によるとイスラエル軍がパレスチナ自治区ガザのシファ病院に15日未明に突入した。イスラエルは同病院の地下が武装集団ハマスの作戦行動司令拠点になっていると主張している。これに対しハマスも病院側も否定している。双方の主張について、いわゆる「第三者」たるいかなる機関（それが存在するかどうか私山田は不明だが）も報道メディアも、裏付けとなる証拠を確認していないようだ。病院地下にハマスの武器があったと、イスラエル軍は写真を公表したが、それさえもイスラエル独自の「証拠写真」だ。
　イスラエル国防軍は、この戦いの端緒となった10月7日の武装集団ハマスによるガザ地区からイスラエル領内への「不意」のロケット弾攻撃と侵入について、その動きがあることを事前に予測することがまったくできなかった。諜報活動の完全な落ち度である、と米国は指摘している。イスラエルもそれを痛切に自覚しているだろう。そして差別と迫害と虐殺の数千年の歴史を負ったイスラエル特有の「報復心」に火が付いた。（パレスチナもまた同様に苦難の歴史を負っていたのであったが・・・。）
　報復のすさまじさを国際社会は連日まのあたりにしている。多くの民間人の死者が出ている。子供達が殺害され、病院の電源喪失のために新生児が死亡している。支援物資はとどかず、飢餓状態がでてきている。

　さて、武装テロリスト集団が人間を盾にして病院を作戦基地にすることを、私は考えられなくはないと思う。しかしながら、病人のみならず多くの無辜の民間人が避難している病院を、イスラエル国軍が軍略的に突入することを、私は正しい判断だったとは思わない。すでにこの行動が国際法違反の疑いが云々されているが、違反していようと違反していずとも、いかなる理由も抜きにして、病院を攻撃対象にしたことを良しとは私は言わない。
　そしてイスラエルは、シファ病院への突入に対する抗議や批判を「反ユダヤ主義」、と逆に非難すべきではない。その逆の非難はイスラエルの軍事政策の「隠れ蓑」、と世界に捉えられるだろう。国際法違反か否かを議論されるときに、そのイスラエルの逆非難は、世界のコンセンサスを得なければならないイスラエルにとって得策とはならないだろう、と私は思う。

　「戦争」とはこういうものだ。だから私は戦争に反対するのだ。

   According to international reports, Israeli forces
stormed Shifa Hospital in Gaza of the Palestinian
autonomous region in the early hours of the 15th.
Israel claims that the basement of the hospital is an 
operational headquarters for the armed group Hamas.
Both Hamas and the hospital deny this. Neither 
so-called "third party" organizations (I am not sure
whether they exist) nor the news media seem to have
confirmed any supporting evidence for either claim.
The Israeli military released a photograph showing
that Hamas weapons were found in the basement of
the hospital, but even that is Israel's own "photo-
graphic evidence."

   The Israel Defense Forces said it was unable to
predict in advance the "surprise" rocket attack and
incrusion into Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip
by the armed group Hamas on October 7, which
sparked thye conflict. They couldn't do it at all. The
United States points out that this is a complete
failure of inteligence activities. Israel must also be
keenly aware of this. This ignited the "spirit of
revenge" that is unique to Israel, which is buedened
with a thousands of years of history of discrimina-
tion, persecution, and genocide. (Palestine also had
a history of hardship as well...)
   The international community is witnessing the
ferocity of retaliation every day. There are many
civilian deaths. Children are being murdered and
newborns are dying because hospitals lost power.
Relief supplies have not arrived, and people are
starving.

   Now, I don't think it's inconceivable that an armed
terrorist group would use a hospital as a base of
operations, using humans as shields. However, I do
not think it was the right decision for the Israeli
military to militarily invade a hospital where not 
only sick people but also many innocent civilians
were taking refuge. It has already been said that
this action is a violation of international law, but
regardless of whether it is a violation or not, I do
not say that it is a good idea to target a hospital
without giving any reason.
   And Israel should not denounce the protests
and criticism of the attack on Shifa Hospital as 
"anti-Semitism." This Israeli claim of "anti-
Semitism" will likely be perceived by the world
as a "cover" for its military policy. When it comes
to discussing whether or not it is a violation of
international law, I don't think Israel's reverse
condemnation will be beneficial for Israel, which
must gain global consensus.

   This is what "war" means. That's why I'm
against war.
