五反田駅に進入する1000系1013F Tokyu Ikegami line 1000 Series 1013 formation at Gotanda

東急池上線の車両では7700系に次いで数が多い1000系。その1000系の中で1編成しかいない中央に貫通扉がある車両を連結している編成が1013F。

1000系は通常、非常扉が向かって左寄りになっているが、1013Fのクハ1013号車とデハ1312号車は真ん中に設けられている。その理由は、1013Fはもともと池上線ではなく東横線の所属で4両編成だった。4+4の8両編成を組んで菊名駅・日吉駅～東京メトロ日比谷線北千住駅、もしくは4両編成でかつての目蒲線（目黒線・多摩川線の前身）用の予備車として活躍していた。4+4の8両編成で走る時に4号車と5号車との間が通り抜けできるように中央に貫通扉を配した構造になった。このタイプは1010F、1011F、1012F、1013Fの4編成存在したが、後に1012F・1013Fが池上線・多摩川線に転属し、同時に1012Fは蒲田方（東横線在籍時は菊名方）の先頭車を通常タイプである1313号車に、1013Fは中央に貫通扉がある1312号に交換して両先頭車の形状を揃え、中間車を1両ずつ抜いて3両編成にした。その後、1010F・1011Fの4・5号車が1012F・1013Fで余剰となった中間車に交換され、4両編成の1000系はなくなり、中央に貫通扉が設けられた1000系は1013Fだけとなってしまった。

The most carriages equip emergency exit door on its left from the view of persons, but that of 1013F set is on the centre.

The front door of the two was laid out at the centre because the two used to couple each other. At first, 1013F appeared as a 4-carriage set on Toyoko Line for going-through service to/from Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line or Mekama Line, the predecessor of Tokyu Tamagawa Line, as well as 1010F, 1011F, and 1012F. In their regular service on Toyoko Line and Hibiya Line, the two sets among those four used to couple each other as 8-carriage set. When the two combined, the front door of the two control carriages in the middle open to let passengers come and go to each other.

In 2000, 1012F and 1013F moved to Ikegami Line and Tamagawa Line and exchanged the control carriages to rearrange them to 3-carriage sets with the same design ends.

In 2003, the two middle carriages from 1012F and 1013F (1362 and 1051) replaced the two central-doored control carriages among 1010F and 1011F sets (1310 and 1011).

Only one set of 1000 Series with centre-doored control carriage is in service on Ikegami Line or Tokyu Tamagawa Line.
