花見友紀の「鉄道のある日常」

21日、僕の元に東京駅開業100周年記念Suicaが届いた。

昨年2014（平成26）年12月20日に開業100周年を迎えた東京駅。そこで販売された記念Suicaは、当初1万5000枚が用意された。しかし予想以上の購入客が殺到して混乱したことから、約8000枚が突然販売が打ち切られた。記念Suicaを買えなかった人の中には、怒りを露にする人も現れ、JR東日本の対応を問題視する声が高まった。

それから約1ヶ月後の2015（平成27）年1月30日、JR東日本は枚数限定を取り止め、希望者全員に記念Suicaを通信販売することに方針転換した。同年2月9日までの受付期間に、なんと499万1000枚を売り上げた。通常の駅でのSuicaの年間売上枚数が300万～400万枚であることから、わずか10日あまりでこれを上回ってしまったのである。すべての記念Suicaの発送には、101回目はおろか、102回目の開業記念日をも過ぎた2017（平成29）年3月までの2年以上の時を要すると発表された。

僕も申し込んだ者の1人であり、記念Suicaの到着を心待ちにしていた。相当長い期間待たないと来ないと思っていたが、101回目の開業記念日の前に、僕の手元に届けられた。2015（平成27）年度発送分の抽選に僕を引き当てていただいた、そして今なお記念Suicaの発送に力を尽くしているJR東日本に、ただただ感謝の気持ちでいっぱいである。


On 21st, Suica for 100th anniversary of Tokyo Station's open came to me.

At first, these cards were sold at Tokyo Station and prepared 15,000 issues. Because of more people than JR East's expectation coming to get the cards, the place got and stopped selling before they were sold out. Some people who couldn't get them got angry and the number and the behaviour of the station staffs .

One month later, JR East started to sell the cards to all people who wanted to buy them on the internet and the mail order. Then JR East announced that the orders of 4,991,000 cards, about 1-million more issues than the annual sales at the stations, were accepted during the receiving period until February 9th, and the shipment of all accepted cards would be finished on March, 2017, more than two years should pass from the 100th anniversary.

As one person who ordered the cards, I've waited for their coming. They came before 101th anniversary. I really appreciate to JR East to choose me on the list of the shipment in 2015 and keep shipping them to all people.
