花見友紀の「鉄道のある日常」

9月7日、Osaka Metroの引き込まれ注意ステッカーに描かれている“地下鉄のお嬢ちゃん”&“地下鉄の坊や”がデビュー10周年を迎えた。

“地下鉄のお嬢ちゃん”&“地下鉄の坊や”の引き込まれ注意ステッカーが大阪市営地下鉄・ニュートラムの車両の側扉に貼り付けられることが発表されたのは、2011（平成23）年9月7日のことだった。（参考：Wayback Machine 大阪市交通局｜新着情報一覧 詳細はリンク切れにつき閲覧不可）「子供が戸袋に手を挟まれないよう、扉に注意喚起のシールを貼ってはどうか。」という当時の大阪市交通局に寄せられた利用者の声に応える形でステッカーが制作され、側扉の戸袋寄り（戸尻）、小さい子供でも見やすいガラスの下部R付近の高さに貼り付けられている（参考：「Wayback Machine 大阪市交通局｜電車のドアが開く際に、戸袋部へ手などを引き込まれないよう、特にお子さまへご注意を願うために、ステッカーを貼り付けました。」）。

ステッカーが貼り付けられると、ブログやSNSなどに「かわいい」「解りやすい」といった声が、ステッカーの写真と共に散見されるようになった。

僕もかわいらしく解りやすい絵柄から、2人のステッカーを気に入った。早速2011（平成23）年からステッカーを題材にしたイラストを描き始め、まずはお嬢ちゃんを描いた。その後もイラストを描いていくうちに、ますます好きになっていき、お嬢ちゃんだけでなく坊やも描き始めた。はじめはステッカーの真似から入ったが、ケガをして泣いている姿ばかり描いていては切なくなってきたことから、ケガから快復した後の表情を想像して描き始めた。

イラストを描いているだけでは飽き足らず、僕は2018（平成30）年に初めて大阪市営地下鉄に乗り、“本人”に会いに行った。

残念ながらOsaka Metroからは、2人のキャラクター設定は公開されていない。しかし僕は勝手ながら2人の顔つきがよく似ており、身長もほぼ同じであることから、2人が双子で、ステッカーの貼り付けが発表された日である9月7日が2人の誕生日だろうと想像している。そして性格は、2人とも明るく元気いっぱいで、ちょっぴりおっちょこちょいなところがあると思っている。

2人はOsaka Metroを利用するお客様が引き込まれ事故に遭わないように見守っている半面、まだ幼く、手をケガして泣いているところを乗車中のお客様に見られていることから、お客様が「慰めてあげたい」という気持ちにさせられ、お客様から見守られてもいるのではないだろうか。

僕はこれからも、イラストを描きながら2人をかわいがっていきたい。そして、2人がより多くの人達に愛されるキャラクターへと成長してほしいと思っている。


On September 7th, "Osaka Subway Girl" and "Osaka Subway Boy" in the mind-the-doors signs on Osaka Metro trains marked the 10th anniversary of their debut.

The signs appeared to warn small children on the train not to hold the doors and place them at the height of their eye level. The voice of passengers that the train needs to show the children not to injure their hands when the doors open made an opportunity to create the signs (Reference:an archive of the press release lists of the late Osaka Municipal Transportation Bureau on Wayback Machine (in Japanese, broken link to the detail) and that of the detail of the sign on Wayback Machine (in Japanese)).

Since then, some people said that the signs looked cute and understandable with photographs of them on their blogs or SNS.

Of course, I like the signs because of the cute and understandable illustration. I also started to represent my first illustration featuring the girl. A few years later, I also did feature the boy or the two and imagined their smile after recovering their hand injury.

In 2018 when I went travelling in Osaka, I saw the two on the Osaka Metro train.

Because Osaka Metro doesn't show the profile of the two, I also imagine what character the two have. In my imagination, the two look cheerful but a bit of scatterbrain. Because the two are almost the same height and have a resemblance appearance, I also did that they can be twins (pigeon pair).

Though the two keep watching passengers not to injure their hands, the passengers also want to watch them because the crying face and injury on the hand of the two make the passengers feel to try them to feel better.

I want to keep showing the illustration featuring the two to cheer for them.
