皆さんが認めるオージートップのシャルドネで、2006年はｐｐポイントも95点と高く、ポテンシャルのあるワインです。

色は緑が入ったレモンイエロー、香りは樽香の効いたシャルドネらしいスモーキーな香り、火打石やハーブ香もあります。味もボリューム感たっぷりで、寝かせるとバターが出てきそうです。日が違えばもっと香りが立ったのでしょう。14.5%とアルコール感も高く、一見ニューワールド的と思われるでしょうが、飲んでみると実にエレガントでニューワールド臭さはありません。個性のある素晴らしいワインだと思います。

オージーのシャルドネではジアコンダと並んで双璧です。

The 2006 Art Series Chardonnay spent 12 months in new French oak with 10% of the wine going through malolactic fermentation. Medium straw-colored, it offers up a superb perfume of pain grille, biscotti, baked apple, poached pear, and tropical notes. Creamy textured, elegant, and concentrated, this savory Chardonnay will evolve for several years and drink well through 2016.

Leeuwin Estate is one of the icon wineries of Western Australia and their Artist Series Chardonnay is an annual contender for Australia's best.

Leeuwin's Art Series Chardonnay is seemingly an annual candidate for Chardonnay of the Year. The light gold-colored 2006 Art Series Chardonnay spent 11 months in 100% new French oak. Currently the aromatics are slightly muted and the wine is tightly wound. It exhibits ample white and tropical fruit aromas, leading to an intensely concentrated, ripe, well-balanced Chardonnay that coats the mouth. This lengthy effort needs several years to blossom after which it will drink well for 10-15 years. I say this with confidence after a small vertical tasting going back to 1987 in which none of the wines showed the deleterious effects of age.

Leeuwin Estate is one of the benchmark wineries of Western Australia. Both reds and whites exhibit cool climate character and European elegance.
