On 26th, I photographed JR Central 371 Series "Asagiri" limited express at Chitose-funabashi Station on Odakyu Odawara Line.371 Series debuted on 1991 as "Asagiri" between Shinjuku Station and Numazu Station via Odakyu and JR Central Gotemba Line. It is famous and very popular among railfans because of existing just only 1 set. Except for Tokaido Shinkansen, the limited express JR Central operates were "Asagiri" and "Tokai", abolished in 2007, only. The design of 371 Series might be based on 100 Series Shinkansen. There were some common points between them, for instance, stream-lined front, blue colour around windows, and 2 double-decker carriages. After retirement from "Asagiri" service, this train is being converted to the one for special tourists.I haven't travelled with 371 Series. This time I record the last year of 371 Series as "Asagiri"."Asagiri" is the first, without before the open of Tanna Tunnel on Tokaido Line between Atami and Kannami, limited express on Gotemba Line, and created the new limited express services on regional lines of JR Central, such as "Fujikawa" on Minobu Line and "Inaji" on Ida Line.
