Yesterday’s private lesson was really interesting. The instructor, who had majored in American literature, and I talked about our favorite books, movies and so on. We couldn’t stop talking. As I mentioned a short story which I have been writing here, she told me it is called “fanfiction.” She confessed she used to be hooked in it. She often uploaded her stories on a fanfiction site and got not only many good comments but also fantastic illustrations for her stories. They made her enchanted. I understand her very much.

In order to write these short stories, I have to reread the original script again and again. In addition, I have quoted many impressive lines and stage directions. I found both of them really useful to learn natural English usage.

Let me quote an example. Although I hadn’t been able to use the phrase "think better of" properly, I got it perfectly here: The large man kisses Ann on the mouth and then turns to Joe, kissing him on each cheek. He turns to Irving but, on seeing Irving’s beard and thinking better of it, shakes his hand instead.
