The entire mentality of a search engine is to provide the best possible result to the searcher that satisfies their original search query. They do this by evaluating a site’s content in reference to the search and the quality of the site and its content. While it’s easy to find “experts” you may want to reach out to, it’s important to remember that not everyone responds positively to such requests. If you’ve been producing content in a haphazard manner, hoping and praying that some of it eventually ranks, it’s time to buckle down and commit to a more methodical SEO content strategy for the web. Though buying links may be a good marketing strategy, Google is on the lookout and cautions webmasters against attempting to manipulate the system. Keyword research can be time-consuming, but rewarding when done properly.

Which principles should SEO copywriters never neglect?

Backlinks from relevant sites in your niche will be worth significantly more than ones from irrelevant sites or webpages. Some people believe that links from competitors for the same search position as you are worth more than others too. Rest assured that real SEO has nothing to do with keyword stuffing, keyword density, hacks, tricks or cunning techniques. If you hear any of these terms from your SEO advisor, run away from them as quickly as you can. Strategically written website copy includes well-thought-out internal links and calls to action. Alt attributes are the text alternatives to your image which will appear if your image fails to load, or if the user is accessing your site with an assistive device such as a screenreader. Because web crawlers don’t have eyes, they’re also what search engines “see” instead of an image, making them important for both accessibility and SEO. Understanding youraudience and the entire consumer journey so you can be visible at the moments when it matters most is mission critical now.

Run Co-Marketing Campaigns Alongside SEO

Most modern SEO agencies will continue to proclaim that "content is king" (and in my opinion, it truly is). But being king is nothing without a kingdom. Like a tree falling with nobody around to hear it, good content with nobody around to read it is useless. Domain authority is a score (on a 100-point scale) developed by Moz that predicts how well a website will rank on search engines. Apart from knowing which search terms people use, you need to know whether or not your idea for your post or page fits the desires and expectations of the people who use the search terms. The best way to find out whether or not your content fits these desires is to Google your proposed (sets of) keywords yourself. Keyword research can be done using free tools. Google has a free tool that allows you to test the mobile-friendliness of your website. As hinted at earlier, companies need to create a responsive website instead of creating desktop websites and expecting them to work on mobile. Speaking from experience, I have often seen product manufacturers describe a product from their point of view.

Optimization ensures the Website is organized efficiently and succinctly

Gaz Hall, a Freelance SEO Consultant from SEO Hull, commented: "Ultimately, SEO done correctly can land your website on the first page of the SERP’s (Search Engine Results Pages), and that is always the goal behind SEO. Why? Because most people doing web searches will not look past the first, and sometimes the second, results page when they’ve done a search. So the first page is where you want to be." Having a sitemap for your website plays a crucial role in SEO. It helps Google easily crawl your pages and index your website. While external links that point to your site provide long-term SEO value, so do links on your site. When you include internal links (links on your website that point to other pages on your website), you send signals to search engines that tell them how to understand, prioritize, and rank the pages on your site. Google AdWords have a brilliant – and completely free – keyword planner which allows you to search for new keyword ideas while checking out real search volumes. If you’ve got a specific idea for a blog post in mind, use the tool well before you start writing to find a few popular and relevant keywords to include. A holistic approach to organic growth often requires buy-in from internal stakeholders that may have little previous experience, or even worse – suspicion of SEO.

What worked a few years ago is now irrelevant.

High Flesch-Kincaid readability score (readability) - If your content needs a Literature major to be deciphered, then you're probably not going to get a lot of links. Why? Because if they don't understand it, they have no reason to link to it. The authority of the website or webpage linking to your site is also key. A few high authority links are far more valuable then many from low quality sites. The more people who read your blog post, the more authority Google will deem it to have. And the more authority a page has, the higher it is likely to rank. So – get your post out there! Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram – whatever social media channels you use, share it on them. I would pursue the more relevant linking opportunity because the domain still likely has some authority and by having relevancy, you increase the chance of driving targeted traffic to your site. The factors that search engines use to rank results include social media engagement, off-site optimization, topical authority, latent semantics, mobile friendless, local optimization, domain authority, and much more. That's where search engine optimization (SEO) comes in.

Start by identifying your core set of target keywords

SEO requires so much content because it wants to grow. Google doesn’t want to see a stagnant, unchanging website. It wants to know you’re building up strong, useful and relevant content so it can deliver the best results for every search. Google has no problem telling you what you need to do to compete for their top ranking spots, just read their guide and do your best to follow through with their recommendations. Every Search Engines use different complex mathematical algorithms for generating Search Results. Different Search Engines perceive different elements of a web page including page title, content, meta description and then come up with their results to rank on. Each Search Engine’s algorithm are different, so if you rank on Google does not definitely mean that you will rank on Google. Strive to incorporate a small handful of links to authoritative sources throughout your copy. This communicates to your readers (and to Google’s algorithms) that your content, while unique, gives credit where it’s due. Use long tail keywords that are very specific to your business to target a particular audience. These phrases epitomize the true essence of your business without coinciding with other related companies. They also provide you with a chance to score high on a search query most pertinent to your products or services.
