Totoro likes eating acorns. My daughter and I used to look for the acorns in the park. It's just a season that we can find out the acorns in the parks. I think you'll be absorbed in getting them if you try. But plese take care that you don't pick them up if they has a small hole on the surface. Some bugs is likely to be in there. According to the dictionary, it's a maggot.

If you collect thousands of acorns, I suggest bring them to the 'Totoro no Mori' in Odaiba. They give you the passbook that indicates how many acorns you donate.
