At a penny arcade – Michinoku ghost story

　It has been already seven years since I started the game training tour; I left my little brother to take care of the family rice farming business. Now I am in a big penny arcade in Tono city of Iwate prefecture.

　Oh, wow! There is a game I have never seen before.

“Thumb Wrestling Super Battle Machine K2N”

　Its name is so dynamic and exciting, but the game itself is quite simple.
　Two hands jut out from the wall at waist level: A right hand and a left hand.
　I wasted no time at all and went immediately to play. I want to battle with my right hand because I am right-handed.
　I keep the upper arm to the body and squeeze the machine's hand.

　Oh, wow, it grasped me back tightly. It is ready for challenge. Then, I'll go without mercy.
　Ready, fight!

　As soon as the gong clanged, the machine's thumb started moving faster than the eye could follow.

　Oh, my, it is much tougher than I expected, but I won't lose.
　Damn you! Take this! Arrgh, here I go…
　Oh, no, it's using the forefinger. That's not fair. It plays foul.

　When I hit a hard blow against the wall with anger, the machine posed as if it were a fox in the shadow picture show and vanished in the smoke with a pop. At that precise moment, I found myself standing in the middle of the rice field.

ゲームセンターにて～みちのく怪談

　家業の稲作を弟に押し付け、ゲーセン武者修行に出て{早}(はや)七年。
　岩手県は{遠野}(とおの)の、とある大型ゲームセンターにたどり着いた。

　おや、見慣れぬ機種がある。

　『ゆび相撲スーパーバトルマシーンＫ２Ｎ』。

　名前は{豪快}(ごうかい)だが、物はいたってシンプルだ。
　壁の、腰の高さあたりから、手が二本突き出ている。右手と左手。
　さっそく対戦。
　利き手の右で勝負だ。
　ひじを締め、ゆびを鉤の手状に曲げて相手とがっちり組む。

　おっと、強く握りかえしてきやがった。こいつ、やる気満々だな。それならこっちだって容赦しないぞ。
　レディー、ファイト！

　ゴングとともにやつの親指が目にもとまらぬ速さで動きだした。

　お、なかなか手ごわいぞ。負けるもんかあ。
　こいつめ、こうだ、えい、やあ、おう、それ……。
　ああっ、人差し指を使いやがった。ずるい。反則だぞ。

　頭にきて壁を叩くと、そいつは影絵でやるようなキツネのポーズをとり、ポンッと煙を吐いて消えたかとおもうと、おれは田んぼの中にいた。
