外部電源が無くても self powered HUB として申告していた？ - ハードオフジャンク税込 330 円スイッチ付き HUB

間が開いてしまった。ハードオフジャンク税込 330 円スイッチ付き HUBがどの様に PC から見えているか調べてみる。Linux に繋いで USB BUS tree 構造を見てみる。リンクになっている部分が当該の HUB だ。配線の通り VL812 の 1 ポートの High Speed 接続を FE1.1 に接続している。変則的な構造なので、接続に問題がでる可能性がある。

リンク先に詳細な descriptor を格納してある。

VL812 の descriptor を見てみる。Self Powered だ。VL812 に Bus Powered/Self Powered を外部入力する端子は無かったはず。改造前の descriptor を見ていなかった。恐らく初めから Self Powered と申告していたと考えられる。
