A6M5/Mitsubishi-4400/HK-102
This article is from The issue of August, 1979 of "Koku Fan". It is very old but wrote by myself with a lot of mis-leading information. But I had very limited information at that time. I found the original serial nuber "4400" stamped on the lower center section of Firewall. my curiosity was advanced to remove it(firewall). Then, found the stenciled "Mitsubishi No.4400" inside of the Firewall. The First, this Zero(#2 Zero of the Air Museum, planes of Fame) was listed on its serial number, 82020. I supposed this #2 Zero was re-assembled with two main Zeros. Because Ed Maloney said he found the serial number, 82020 from horizontal stabilizer. I did not know which was stenciled or stamped on the data plate. Then, I miss-understood the aft frame was from A6M5c/82020(Nakajima built). Another mention were I found several s/ns from various Zero parts like Mitsubishi-4248,-4254?,-4314,-4400,-4407. Later, I mentioned #2 Zero was from Truk Island(maybe Takeshima Island) and seriously damaged on Feb. 17, 1944., then re-assembled with various Zero parts. But main frame is Mitaubishi-4400. the serial number "82020" had the both models of Nakajima built Zeros, one was A6M2 Zero 21 and the other was A6M5c Zro 52c or Hei. the presumed date of manufactured of 82020 is 3-11-20(Nov. 20, 1943) and 4400 is 3-12-29(Dec. 29, 1943)
