I am in Malaysia
I am in Kuala Lumpur (KL) international airport in Malaysia, for the flight transit. I will be in the flight to Japan in 30 minutes. This is a super-modern airport, it has got full range of brand shops, souvenir shops, restaurants, hotels, massage parlors and executive lounges. The facility here is just as good as Singapore's Changi airport (less number of shops though...) and is much less crowded than Singapore.Having stayed in India for a month, I am starving for any kind of "Non-Indian" food, and here in Malaysia, I enjoyed Nasi Lemak (the plat of Beef rendang, stewed beans, coconut rice and cucumbers), the taste was very satisfactory. Also here in Malaysia, I saw many Kanji characters and some signboard written in Japanese language...those things are hardly seen in India. Plus, unlike in India, I do not feel I am an alien here, maybe because my appearance is not very obvious compared to the locals. I feel like I am much closer to home in Japan. I have visited in Malaysia twice, plus twice transit at KL airport. I think Malaysia is a type of country I can live and settle in with my family (if I choose to do so..). It is a modern society with vibrant economy, and is a cultural crossload from Eastern to Western Asia, having very strong economic tie with Japan and China while having strong cultural ties with muslim communities in the world.I want to spend a week in here if possible, but I have to head for Japan now. I am glad to catch up with the family after one month of break.
