Indigo/ Chikuzen Satou
Chikuzen's last album "Okra" (See Aug. 10, 2006) was a little introspective work. After the release of "Okra", Chikuzen could go on a tour with great band.He wanted to make the most of the power of the band for this album. So we can enjoy the sound of band performed by great players. He talks about one of those musicians Hideo Yamaki, a drummer who performs "Hey!":This song starts with African sound, and changes into progressive, and the last of the song is funk.In many cases, the drummers change snare drums for the sound, but Yamaki plays whole part with one snare drum. One of the engineers in Memphis named John said that this song could make a hit in the U.S. "Kao agete" (head up high) is by PLUS ONE, a duo of Kazumasa Oda and Chikuzen. (See Mar. 23, 2007)"Siosai-dori" ("Siosai" means the sound of the waves; this street is a real place) is written by Face 2 Fake."Gratitude" is written and performed with Hironori Okano, who is making a debut in this autumn. (See Jun. 5, 2007)This album turned out to be the final recording of Yoshiyuki Asano alias Butcher, who played the guiter for five songs. (See Jun. 23, 2007)The song Asano recorded last of all was the acoustic guitar of "Otononai oto" (silent sound). Now, when I listen back to the songs following "Otononai oto", somehow I feel "Hanaemi" (flowery smile) is sung recalling him -not only "Gratitude" that Chikuzen talked about at the concert.Asano left us great performance and real musician's spirit- According to Chikuzen, Asano was struck down by sudden illness during the final process of mixing, and departed to Heaven five hours after the sound source of the songs he performed for was finished. Chikuzen says 19 years since he made a debut as Sing Like Talking, and he finally came to the starting line of the music he really wants to create:Really good song and melody, and really cool music.June 20, 2007 Universal Music Japan UPCH-1547 (Translation: Unable-to-think-up-Handle)◆ :Ready to place translation depending on request
