Serene state of mind

Unfortunately, I cannot watch Year-end Grand Song Festival this year; I'm going to a countdown concert of my favorite singer.
However... as long as my memory serves me right, I haven't watched this program on TV since I became twenties; I'm busy with chores such as year-end cleaning and cooking New Year's dishes -homemaker is a tough task.　
I enjoy it on the radio instead, though.
And I don't feel like watching this program with my family; every time my grandfather watches younger singers on TV, he complains that he doesn't approve their songs as music -so I avoid watching TV with him by plunging into year-end housework. (See also Jan. 5, 2007)　
Now today's main story:
(Two years ago)
Last year, several groups from neighboring peninsular country appeared on Year-end Grand Song Festival, but this year, none of them is coming.
Unfortunately, since I began to watch music programs like other people, there are only three singers from this country I've taken interested in, and two of them are proficient singers, and at least none of idol groups famous in our country is included.
So this has nothing to do with me and all I'd like to comment is:
Once one of my favorite musicians who is a genuine proficient musician lamented on the radio that why singers and groups from neighboring peninsular country and domestic idol groups dominant the chart in our country these days.
Surely, I've seen many of them on music programs I watch, and I've had an impression that many of them are much alike.
However... due to -or thanks to- recent conflict between two countries, less and less singers and groups from neighboring peninsular country appear on TV in our country.
It's deplorable that politics issues affect culture and art.
But the other side of the coin is: It can be a great opportunity to raise the level of domestic music, isn't it?
For example, by finding and pulling out little-known proficient musicians with real talent and personality.
There could have been a background that there were less proficient singers in our country and our music scene couldn't compete with other countries.
I'm placing again what I've placed several times; it is more constructive to demand better domestic music if you have time and critical ears to run down music from overseas -as well as dramas and movies.
